EQ22

EQ22 is the first public offering from RoughDraftAudio.
It was developed for the 2006 KVR Developer Challenge.

EQ22

The idea for it was born from an idle comment made in a thread at www.recording.org during the summer of 2005.

EQ22 is a 5Band equaliser, with each band covering 2 octaves, with a tuning control to globally scale the centre freqencies of the bands.
It serves 3 functions:

1: To be a 5 Band passive EQ - EQ22 is equipped to perform standard attenuation in each band.
2: To restore dynamics in an audio stream. When a fader is raised above the halfway mark, the proprietary 'Transient Dispersion' algorithm takes over the processing of the band, and will enhance the dynamic range using various latency-free adaptive techniques.
3: To provide a basic 'Tube' section for those who don't own a 'Tube amp'.

EQ22 is freeware.

The developer of RoughDraftAudio has close connections with BetabugsAudio, and has developed a number of VST plugins with them.

Vascillator
Computer Music Magazine
This is a multi-mode semi-modular delay-line, distributed as part of ComputerMusic magazine's CMStudio. It was first made available in September 2006 with Issue104, and takes its place along side other works from Muon software, ImageLine, PSP and other respected developers.

It features:
o a semi-modular architecture where modules can be placed at various points along a fixed signal path
o a host-syncable delayline capable of 4second delays in free running mode, or 8 crotchets (quarter notes) in sync mode.
o a multimode 24dB/Oct filter, which can be controlled via a multi-mode envelope follower
    o PingPong facility
o Separate Panning for input and output signals.

BetabugsAudio
Set up in 2004, BetabugsAudio has been putting out innovative plugins which are fun to use and are blessed with appealling user interfaces from Alex Volmer aka mully/multree.
Duncan Parsons was responsible for SVF2, Moneo, FloFiDeluxe and Chorrosive, amongst others.

Currently all plugins developed by RoughDraftAudio are for the PC only, and will work on any Windows platform from Win2000 onwards. They may work in Win9x, although this is not guaranteed.
You will need a VST Host to be able to use these works. See the 'Where' section for a few which RDA use, and see KVRAudio for a more comprehensive list.
