RoughDraftAudio uses Borland Delphi as it's primary development environment which is currently only for Windows. Using Bootcamp, it is possible to install a Windows OS, and then use our works. There are no immediate plans to release native Mac works, although using Lazarus it may become possible. If you are keen for this, please post to this thread to encourage the developers there to solve some of the related issues.
I tracked a dry guitar part, then really compressed it. I used EQ22 to remove the compression, but it sounded different to the original part. What went wrong?Nothing. EQ22 does not attempt to remove the compression or other gain effects that have been performed on a signal. These are 'non-linear' processes, and without precise details of what went on the signal cannot be 'backtracked' to the original signal. What the 'Transient Dispersion' algorithm in EQ22 does is watch the signal presented, and make adjustments in such a way as to enhance it and bring new life, rather than recreate what may have been there before.
